On April 30, Taco hosted the inaugural Mini-Con, a single-day conference organized by the Rhode Island Section of the American Society for Quality (RIASQ), bringing together quality professionals for a day of learning, collaboration, and connection.
Mini-Con welcomed nearly 50 attendees for an intimate and accessible event. The theme of the conference was “The Modern Quality Profession: Skills, Tools, and Mindsets.” Featuring six guest speakers, a hands-on workshop, a guided tour of the Taco Cranston facility, and ample time dedicated for networking with both peers and sponsors, the conference provided a full day of professional development.
The Taco plant tour was considered the highlight of the conference, offering attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the manufacturing operations and strong commitment to quality. RIASQ Section Chair Shannon Flanagan shared, “The crown jewel of the day was the plant tour Taco hosted. Joe [Mattiello]’s enthusiasm and passion for the work Taco does shined throughout the tour and engaged our attendees.”
Attendee feedback highlighted the event’s success, with 100% indicating they would recommend Mini-Con to others. The event’s smaller, more intimate format was a significant draw, allowing attendees to have meaningful conversations and connect with peers, speakers, and sponsoring partners.
Mini-Con was made possible through the support of several valued partners, including Polaris MEP, Nterprisers, Crestcom Vertikal6, QSG, Quantum Leap Engineering, and Trans-Tex, another Rhode Island manufacturers.
RIASQ plays an important role in strengthening the local quality community by supporting industry professionals through events, discussions, and a variety of education opportunities, both online and in-person.
Taco is honored to have supported this event, and we look forward to continued collaboration with organizations like RIASQ that work to advance quality at the local level.
